High School Musical 2

Oh the anticipation and excitement were palpable here this evening as the countdown took place to the much awaited premiere at 6pm of “High School Musical 2″.

We’ve got the DVD, and listened to the CD till it was scratched, of the original High School Musical. “Get’cha head in the game”, “We’re all in this together” and “Stick to the status quo” played non stop for months in the car on the school run, all the kids singing at the top of their voices. They loved it. I must confess some of the more catchier songs did grow on me by the fifth or so month…

The “Grease” of today, Troy and Gabriella replacing Sandy and Danny, East High replacing Rydale. Though more squeaky clean as a TV Disney movie.

No doubt these new tunes will be aswell loved as the original soundtrack. Here’s hoping “High School Musical 2″ is more successful a sequel than “Grease 2″ was.
